"Stigmata"
"If there is a lesson to
be learned from "Stigmata," this is it: Never send your daughter a
rosary stolen from the corpse of a recently deceased saintly priest who for
mysterious reasons had hidden himself away in a tiny village in the hinterlands
of Brazil. Don't even think about it." ( KENNETH TURAN, Times Film
Critic)
From the first rate
performance Patricia Arquette in
gave in "Rangoon" I knew that if anyone could pull off this role she
could. I was not disappointed. The
story is in many ways similar to the "Exorcist" with which it has been
often compared, but in fact the reason for the possession and the lesson to be
learned from it, in this modernized story is quite different.
The pace of this movie is
right out of MTV. Most scenes or
takes last 2 seconds or less making this a 90's exorcist on steroids.
A fast paced movie without those long lingering shots of the "Blair
Witch Project".
