Ford's Theatre

Now maintained by the National Park Service, this is the entrance to Ford's Theatre. On April 14th 1865 Ford's Theatre ran a small ad on page 1 of the National Intelligencer announcing the "Benefit and last appearance of Miss Laura Keene in her celebrated comedy of Our American Cousin".  A small advertisement in the Star stated "Lieut. Gen'l Grant, President and Mrs. Lincoln have secured the State Box at Ford's Theatre TONIGHT, to witness Laura Keene's American Cousin".
